1st Stop: Sintung Sugar Factory Culture Park

Over the past two decades, Dulan has transformed from a seaside Amis village to the cultural treasure trove it is today. Many artists have relocated to Dulan with their love and passion for this land, the ocean, and the people. The result is a unique local artistic gathering. The Sintung Sugar Factory Cultural Park used to be a privately owned brown sugar factory. The factory was transformed into an artistic cultural park by a group of artists. They kept the original wooden dorms, factory, flag tower, and other unique structures. The venue can be used as an exhibition stage and has become a popular gathering location for art and culture lovers. There is a coffee shop, aboriginal cultural hall, and cool doodles and paintings all around the park. 2nd Stop: Dulan Seaside Park

Escape the concrete jungle and visit Taitung’s shorelines. Let the deep ocean blue wash away all your troubles and give you a sense of vacation. You’ll feel as though you’ve been transported through a blue portal to a new relaxing life. If you want to find yourself surrounded by the Taitung blue in Dulan, you must not miss the Dulan Seaside Park. While the location may be a little out of the way, the breathtaking blue skies and waters have made it a popular Insta-worthy location. The Dulan Seaside Park used to be a used soil dump site. The government cleaned the site up and made it a beautiful ocean viewing platform. The park is spacious and it has an unobstructed view of the stunning Pacific. There’s even a wooden swing and heart-shaped installation artwork. Swing lazily and enjoy the amazing ocean view. 3rd Stop: Dalian Tribal House

Are you looking to experience the natural and cultural beauty of Dulan? You have to slow your pace down and make sure not to miss out on the local aboriginal delicacies. The Dalian Tribal House located along the coast of Dulan will leave a lasting impression on you using a scrumptious array of aboriginal specialty meals. Dalian means pagoda or resting place. This is a place of meeting for the Amis people. Dalian Tribal House is the bridge that links the tribal people and visitors, allowing them to learn and experience the tribe’s food and culture. The outdoor dining area is shaded by straw and the tables and chairs are made from driftwood. The building style is unique and you will find wisdom in the building techniques used. Guests can view the vast ocean view from close up while enjoying their meals in the cool ocean breeze. The meals are also surprisingly delicious. You can taste aboriginal dishes such as roasted boar, fried wild greens, tribal sticky rice among others. 4th Stop: Moonlight Inn

Driving up to Dulan, you’ll arrive at the Moonlight Inn roughly after 15 minutes. This location used to be the Dulan Forest Administration Center and the Teacher’s Recreational Center. The Moonlight Inn transformed the space into a cafe that is owned and run by the Tourism Bureau’s East Coast National Scenic Area. The two-story-tall structure is a classic Japanese wooden structure. The first floor is used to host art exhibitions and musical performances while the beautiful original set of the movie The Moon Also Rises has been kept on the second floor. You will find that the Moonlight Inn is in a quiet and undisturbed area where you can look over Dulan Township and take in the entire east coast ocean view.
