M’LOMA

The most memorable dishes are usually connected to feelings of home. Chef A’yue’s dishes are also intertwined with memories and thoughts of home. The store is named M’LOMA, an abbreviation of the Amis term Ma’ilol To loma, meaning homesick.  To aboriginal people, a heartfelt conversation over a shared dining table with others is the true flavor of being together. A’yue, who is from the Paterungan Tribe in Fengbin Township, Hualien, has presented the flavors of his home on the table. Besides offering guests a full and luscious menuless meal, he also hopes to share the warm dining atmosphere. Each dish is full of tribal qualities and the chef shares the cooking techniques, ingredients, and special connection with the tribe when presenting the dishes to create a full and satisfying dining experience.
