[Temporarily closed] Tapelik Cafe

Did you know that if you keep on driving along the east coast, you will arrive in Bali? As you approach Shiyusan and look out at the beach, you’ll feel as if you’re on exotic Bali Island. Tapelik Cafe is on the side of Highway 11 and is only accessible by driving. The tiny cafe has the perfect Pacific Ocean view and is just a few steps away from the beach. Make sure to take a short break when driving by, enjoy a nice cup of coffee, and take in the breathtaking ocean view.

Tapelik is the Amis term for ‘wave’ and is fitting for the cafe that is surrounded by gently rolling waves. The owner is an Amis from the Chongan tribal village. He returned to his hometown after working abroad in the Philippines for 6 years. He decided to stay in this special place when he noticed that the tribe’s population was falling. He pitches a tent near the beach, makes fragrant coffee to welcome each guest passing through, and celebrates the ocean and mountains where his people live in.

Besides coffee, Tapelik offers tea, juice, and simple meals like toast and noodles. Eating yummy food with breathtaking views make visitors the most enjoyable experience. Come spend a lazy afternoon at Tapelik if you’re not in a hurry to get to your destination. Drink a cup of coffee under the grass umbrellas, take in the Pacific Ocean view, submerge yourself in the relaxing atmosphere, and enjoy this exotic vacation. If you are bored of sitting down, stroll down to the beach and step through the waves while the breeze, sunshine, and waves surround you.
