The rice sways in the autumn breeze as dancers move to the rhythm of the waves of grain and songs echo in the mountains. The internationally famed Chishang Autumn Harvest Festival is entering its 14th year. The 175 hectares of golden rice paddies are transformed into the stage where the Cloud Gate Dance Theater, Yourenshengu, Singer A-mei, and other headliners gather to express their energy through art and allow the audience to enjoy the interwoven product of nature and art.
This year, the Chishang Township Taitung County Culture and Art Association, Lovely Taiwan Foundation, and the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau, the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan have gathered their resources to co-host the 2022 Chishang Autumn Harvest Festival. The show will take place on the 29th and 30th of October in the rice paddies by Paradise Road. This year’s theme will be The Way of the Heart. We hope that the songs that echo throughout the blue skies, valleys, and paddies, will comfort those who are stressed and anxious due to COVID. The beauty of art will help you recollect and redirect yourselves. This year, three major headliners, Wakin Chau, Where Chou, and Matzka, will be present at the festival. Taiwan’s king of songs, Wakin Chau will bring many familiar tunes that will take you on a trip down memory lane and bring up many warm and fond memories. Where Chou’s moving ballads will resound throughout the rift valley and resonate with the angels. Taitung’s very own musical genius, Matzka, will get the party started with his upbeat and energetic songs.
Gentle Reminder: The entrances to Mr. Brown Avenue will be under traffic control measures. We suggest that the public take advantage of the shuttle service to nearby stops before walking into the concert area.
