Chishang Township is known for its sublime mountains and waters, it is also made a name as a cultural rice hometown. The annual Chishang Autumn Harvest Festival is held here each fall, the popular event Chishang Spring Plowing Picnic Festival is held in the spring. The lovely Dapo Lake acts as the most breathtaking stage for the music festival where the public can welcome and embrace the springtime.
The Chishang Spring Plowing Picnic Festival has been put on hold for the last two years due to the pandemic. This year the festival returns with many popular Taiwanese folk singers including Samson Shih, Yvonne Cheng, Johnny Yin, Sandy Wang, Mingde Lee, and more. Besides the exciting list of musical performances, there will also be a Spring Plowing Market where visitors will be able to explore local good eats.
