綠島的奇岩巨石形狀獨特，給人無窮的想像空間，其中將軍岩更是綠島的人氣地標，沿著環島公路駛往公館港，巨大的身影矗立於海岸平台上，猛一看猶如堅毅嚴峻的將軍栩栩如生，強大的氣場令人震攝。 將軍岩由安山岩構成，岩石經風化侵蝕後，外形有如頭戴鋼盔、身穿鎧甲的將軍，且正襟危坐監視著前方的三峰岩；恰巧將軍岩旁邊的綠島人權紀念公園，在白色恐怖時期正是政治受難者在獄方看管下打石的場所—奇特的地理景觀，巧妙地對照並銘刻這一段歷史。（圖片來源：臺東縣政府）
